What we collect

When you visit msoftnews, we collect basic technical information that any web server records: your IP address, the browser and operating system reported by your client, the page you requested, and the page that referred you to us. We use this information to serve the site, debug errors, and produce aggregate traffic statistics.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for an email address. If you post a comment on an article, we ask for a name and email address. We don't ask for either if you're only reading.

Cookies

We set a small number of first-party cookies. They remember your theme preference (light or dark), keep you signed in if you've created a comment account, and tell us whether you've already dismissed our cookie banner. See our cookie policy for details.

We use a privacy-respecting analytics provider (planned: Plausible) that does not set tracking cookies and does not collect personal data.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell or share your email address with third parties.
  • We do not run cross-site tracking pixels.
  • We do not use Google Analytics or any other surveillance-grade analytics.
  • We do not require an account to read articles.

Your rights

If you'd like to know what data we hold about you, change it, or have it deleted, email privacy@msoftnews.com. We respond within thirty days.

Children

The site is not directed at children under thirteen and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
